


Senior iSeries (AS/400) Technology Consultant
Responsibilities
* Function as a senior iSeries (AS/400) technical expert providing implementation and support services to an exciting range of customer environments
* Provide presales support including customer presentations and demonstrations, scoping of customer proposals and development of technical reports.
* Representation of organization at local user groups
Education and Work Experience:
* College Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field.
* 5+ years experience operating in an iSeries in an OS/400 environments
Essentials skills, competencies and responsibilities
* OS400 upgrades and migrations, application of PTF’s,
* Automation of PTF distribution using image files
* iSeries (AS/400) hardware setup and installation
* Knowledge of iSeries/AS400 LAN Console and Operations Navigator
* Control Language (CL) programming skills for automation
* Hardware Management Console (HMC)
* Logical Partitioning (LPAR)
* Perform iSeries administration and security maintenance
* Backup Recovery and Media Services (BRMS)
* Design, test, document and implement disaster recovery plans (DRP)
* Performance measurement, tuning and system management
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office tools and other business enabling software (Acrobat, Exchange, Lotus Notes, Winzip, etc.)
Preferred skills/competencies
* IBM Certified Specialist - iSeries Technical Solution Implementer Certification
* IBM Certified System Expert – iSeries Technical Solutions Certification
* Installation and Administration experience on Windows, Unix, or AS/400

Other Requirements:
* The incumbent will be required to work occasionally during non-business hours at nights and/or weekends as required to support customer projects. Occasional travel to various client sites outside the GTA is required.
